Detach Reference

Used to detach a referenced modelto detach a referenced model from the active model.

You can access this tool from the following:

Ribbon: Drawing > Attach > Reference
Toolbox: Reference

When working with a read-only file such as an i-model, you can use this tool and you can view its impact on the original drawing but the changes will not be saved.

Setting	Description
Use Reference Dialog List	If on, the reference(s) selected in the References dialog is detached from the master file. (Available only when References Dialog is open.) (Not available) All options regarding references are controlled through the Model tab of the Project Explorer dialog.
Use Fence	If on, the references contained by the fence are detached from the active model. The option menu sets the Fence (Selection) Mode.
